The Danish Chamber of Commerce is the core business organisation and employers’ association for forward-thinking business. The Chamber currently represents 20.000 companies and 100 trade associations from the commerce, leisure, transport, knowledge industry and service sectors. Our mission is to support companies by creating a more attractive environment in which to run a business and to help safeguard corporate interests within areas such as national business and employment regulations, the EU framework and global trade.

Commercial information and advice
The Chamber provides in-depth advice to its members and helps resolve the challenges they face on a local, national and global level. It can assist its members in matters relating to:

  • legislatory frameworks such as commercial legislation, business and educational policies;
  • foreign trade, global networks, business development, innovation and technology;
  • issues regarding the environment and corporate social responsibility nationally and in global value chains.
These consultancy - services provide a valuable contribution towards the development and growth of businesses that can be measured directly on the company’s bottom line.

Contacts and influence
The Danish Chamber of Commerce has regional offices in all the major cities in Denmark and is represented on all relevant councils and bodies that issue commercial legislation. The Chamber has established close links with politicians and other government representatives, thereby allowing it to directly advise the government and other official organisations on business-related matters. The Chamber safeguards its members’ interests in relation to both the Danish authorities and the EU via direct negotiations with the parties involved. It takes part in the European legislative process through:

  • Eurochambers - the European organisation for Chambers of Commerce;
  • Eurocommerce - the European organisation for retail, whole sale and international trade;
  • the European Business Services Roundtable;
  • the Baltic Sea Chambers of Commerce Association.
The Chamber also hosts and manages the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) secretariat in Denmark. This worldwide network of chambers and organisations enables the Chamber to provide strong global consultancy advice.

Globalised promotion
The Globalisation Department in the Danish Chamber of Commerce focuses on assisting its member companies in three major areas:

  • Trade promotions and delegations;
  • Global political framework and legislation;
  • Member-oriented advice and services.

Trade promotion and delegations
The Department arranges overseas trade delegations and promotions for its members. Global promotional activities are organised for groups of companies to help establish contacts with foreign authorities and business sectors as well as building new global relations.
